Aging in Place, Beautifully Designed

Aging in place has many benefits, but as our needs change, our homes sometimes need to change with us. Thoughtful modifications can make everyday living more comfortable, functional, and accessible—without sacrificing the character and style that make a home feel special.

For these clients, we transformed a back room into a beautiful, fully accessible walk-in shower, creating an alternative to navigating the steps when they simply aren’t up for it. The result is a space designed to support how they live today while thoughtfully anticipating their needs for the years ahead.

To reinforce the home’s traditional character, we brought in old-world charm with travertine-inspired porcelain floor tile paired with a handmade, varied shower tile. Modern plumbing fixtures add a fresh touch, while an antiqued black vanity balances the space with timeless character.

The finished bathroom blends function, accessibility, and classic design—proving that aging in place can be both practical and beautiful.
